This one-day seminar was held at Birmingham City Museum and Art Gallery on 4 October 1980.

28 specimens were brought to be judged for Professional Membership.

11 specimens received credits including work by Derek Frampton who exceeded the required number of 6 credits and became the Guild's first Professional Member.
